Impact ReportAt Springboard Trust we challenge ourselves regularly, asking not only, "How do we know we are succeeding?" but also "How do we know we are making an impact?"

In 2016, we conducted an internal evaluation across all our programmes and services. Using a revised evaluation framework developed by the New Zealand Council of Education Research (NZCER) in 2015, we discovered resounding evidence of the significant impact our programmes have on principals’ leadership of their schools

Highlights of these results include:

  • In 2016, SLPP had a medium to high impact on 98% of school principals
  • In addition to the learning outcomes, SLPP was associated with:
    • Stimulating principals' thinking
    • Motivating principals to learn more
    • Benefits of working through others
    • Inspiring principals to do something different
  • Enhanced leadership capacity amongst alumni principals, a significant proportion assessing themselves as more effective and efficient in strategic thinking and planning

Focusing on alumni principals from 2012 – 2014, the evaluation found the programme was of a high calibre, well-constructed and highly effective.

Released in 2015, overall the results show:

  • positive impacts for the leadership of participating principals
