web thumbnailIn the 2017 Programme Impact Report, we share evidence of our vision, using our theory of change and evaluation framework to rigorously assess the year’s activities and outcomes.

With rapid growth across our portfolio of programmes, we continue to be challenged and encouraged by the appetite for sustained engagement, collaboration, and development amongst principals and their leadership teams. At Springboard Trust we assist education leaders to be strategically effective through an ecosystem that provides and supports leadership learning.

In 2017 we achieved a number of exciting milestones:

  • Facilitated 10 cohorts in our Strategic Leadership for Principals Programme, the highest intake in the programmes’ history, with regional expansion and a secondary school pilot
  • Developed and deepened our ‘customer journey’ and completed over 50 Alumni Services initiatives in schools, including piloting our High Performing Leadership Team programme
  • Recruited highly capable, multi-skilled individuals expanding the core team to 30
  • Enabled a “digital learning and collaboration platform” to be in place for the start of SLPP 2018 cohorts

2016 impact report thumbnailAt Springboard Trust we challenge ourselves regularly, asking not only, "How do we know we are succeeding?" but also "How do we know we are making an impact?"

In 2016, we conducted an internal evaluation across all our programmes and services. Using a revised evaluation framework developed by the New Zealand Council of Education Research (NZCER) in 2015, we discovered resounding evidence of the significant impact our programmes have on principals’ leadership of their schools.

ReportIn 2015, Springboard Trust and NEXT foundation commissioned the NZCER to evaluate the short-to-medium term impact of our Strategic Leadership for Principals' programme on school leadership and schools.

Focusing on alumni principals from 2012 – 2014, the evaluation found the programme was of a high calibre, well-constructed and highly effective.

Released in 2015, overall the results show:

  • positive impacts for the leadership of participating principals
  • improved leadership capacity among teachers
  • improved learning opportunities and gains in student knowledge
