Springboard Trust moves all Term 1 delivery online

The Springboard Trust team has been reviewing our operations daily in light of the Omicron variant’s rapid spread through our communities.

We have committed to prioritising the health and safety of our tumuaki, our team and our volunteers, and have decided that all Term 1 service delivery will be moved online.

Unfortunately, this means that no in-person contact between our team, principals or volunteers can take place this term.

That includes our programmes, workshops, debriefs and any other formal or informal 1:1 face-to-face engagement with our staff or volunteers operating under the Springboard Trust umbrella.

We have been so excited to kick off our learning for 2022, which makes this decision all the more disappointing to have to enact. But simply put, the Omicron variant spreads too quickly and pervasively for us to safely resume face-to-face delivery. We are an organisation bringing together so many people, many of whom are vulnerable to COVID-19 or are in bubbles with those who are – while also working in close proximity to schools and tamariki, many of whom are yet to be double vaccinated. We have a duty of care to whakamaru / mitigate the potential spread of Omicron wherever we can.

I know this news will be disappointing to many of you, just as it has been for our team, but we must continue doing our bit for those around us. We have spent a significant portion of the last two years  delivering our programmes in an online environment, and are certain that we will continue to transform schools together through this shift.

We will continue reviewing these settings on a regular basis, and inform you of any changes to our protocols as soon as they are made.

Thank you again for your care, your flexibility and your understanding. For any questions about your upcoming engagements with us, please contact your Relationship & Programme Manager or our Volunteer Manager.
